Summary

INVESTIGATION INTO THE VARIATION IN CONCENTRATION OF VITAMIN C AND TOTAL SOLIDS, INPH AND ACIDITY OF ORANGES SUBMITTED TO IRRADIATION AT DOSES OF 0. 25 TO 1.5 KILOGRAY AND STORED FOR SIX WEEKS AT 12-15 DEG C. EXCEPT PH, THE OTHER PARAMETERS DECREASE AS THE IRRADIATION DOSE INCREASES. SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES ARE NOTED IN THE VITAMIN C CONTENT AT IRRADIATION DOSES ABOVE 0.35 KILOGRAY.
