Summary
The distribution uniformity of refrigerant flow with phase change in parallel flat tubes is very important to the performance of heat exchangers. However, the existing predictions differ from the experimental data. The authors' review shows that the distribution uniformity of air flow and refrigerant flow in parallel flat tubes is greatly affected by working condition, structure, and fluid flow feature. It is suggested that the future research on the uniformity of both air flow distribution and refrigerant flow distribution in parallel flat tubes should be carried out to improve the performance of heat transfer in microchannel heat exchangers.
