THIS ARTICLE GIVES A BRIEF ACCOUNT OF THE PRESENT STATUS AND TRENDS IN ESTABLISHING SMALL-SIZE COLD STORAGE PLANT IN CHINA. FORMERLY, LARGE-SIZE COLD STORAGE PLANT WERE BUILT AT FISHERY BASES WITH LARGE CAPACITIES FOR FREEZING, ICE-MAKING AND COLD STORAGE. SINCE FISHERMAN WISH TO SELL THEIR OWN FISH CATCH, THEY BUILT MANY SMALL-SIZE COLD STORAGE PLANT TO PROCESS FISH, CHIEFLY IN SMALL-SIZE PACKAGES FOR EXPORT. THESE PLANT ARE FURNISHED WITH PROCESSING ROOMS AND EQUIPMENT FOR INDIVIDUALLY QUICK FROZEN FISH.
