Steady-state heat transport in a channel containing He II at high pressures up to 1.5 MPa.

Summary

Steady-state heat transport through He II in wide channels of 6 and 10 mm i.d. was investigated up to pressures larger than 1 MPa for the first time. In the pressure range up to 0.5 MPa, the results are consistent with the Van Sciver's experiment and prediction assuming the linearity of the changes in the temperature gradient with pressure. However, the changes in the temperature gradient with pressure are shown to be not linear in the pressure range beyond 0.5 MPa.
