Storage of apples grown in Finland.
Author(s) : DRIS R.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Varieties grown in Finland do not tolerate storage of the fruit at temperatures below 0 deg C, but at 2-4 deg C physiological breakdown is avoided. Winter varieties such as Lobo are often the only ones stored for long periods, with summer ones being considered to have a short storage life; but under good storage conditions varieties such as Transparente Blanche and Samo keep well for 3 months.
