Author(s) : LI J. Q., ZHANG W. H., AO W. Q., et al.

Summary

The structural and magnetocaloric effect of NdCo4Ga compound have been investigated by X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. Powder X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the compound form in a hexagonal CaCu5-type structure (space group P6/mmm). The Curie and spin reorientation transition temperatures are 410 and 303 K respectively. The maximum magnetic entropy change are 0.91 J/kg.K at 301 K for the spin-reorientation transition and 0.62 J/kg.K at 405 K for FM-PM transition in this compound in a magnetic field change of 1.5 T.
