Summary
In the present investigation, cut flowers of rose cv. Folklore were stored at 4 and 8 °C for 3, 4, 5 and 6 days. Cut roses can be stored for a maximum of two days without losing their ultimate keeping quality in the vase at ambient temperature. Cold storage at 4 °C increased water potential of the cut flowers. Flowers stored for 6 days at 4 °C recorded highest water potential. Flowers stored for 3 days at 4 °C gave maximum vase life compared with other treatments and freshly cut un-stored flowers.
