Summary

During the study of the devices which are based upon the choke effect of the Joule-Thomson with a mixture of coolants as a refrigerant, the main attention had been paid to the study of the influence of a compressor oil solubility within the mixture of coolants on the performance of the cooling circuit. Under cryogenic temperatures, the freezing (flocking) of the oil within the pipelines of the cooling system results to clogging of the capillary tubes (throttle device) and, as a result, makes it impossible to maintain the
selected cooling temperature. It is one of the main reasons for a whole system subsequent failure.
