Study of the efficiency of ammonia-metal chloride-carbon chemical heat pump systems.

Etude de l'efficacité des systèmes de pompes à chaleur chimique ammoniac-chlorures métalliques-carbones.

Summary

To improve heat and mass transfer during a reversible absorption-desorption reaction between a salt and ammonia used in a heat-storage and refrigeration-production system, several carbonated binders have been proposed. The authors used different carbonated binders to compare the kinetics of the reactions of the absorption of ammonia by manganese chloride; they examined the repercussions on the quantity of energy stored. The most convincing results were obtained with inserted graphite fibers. Inserted powder graphite and the consolidated block of exfoliated graphite also gave good results.
