Summary
The paper presents the study of two options for distillation in an ammonia-water absorption heat pump driven by solar energy. The first solution consists of a falling film desorber that can provide some rectification by contact of the vapour with a falling spray formed by the entering solution. The second solution consists of a reflux cooler located after the desorber. These solutions are compared. Both results show that a reflux cooler can slightly improve the cooling power and the performance of the machine.
