Summary

In 2001, Kuili chestnuts were harvested and some were soaked in a solution of Bio-fresh-keeping agent for 3 days, then dried in the cold store for 4 days; some were soaked in the agent and the rest were used as the control. The chestnuts were put in plastic bags and cold stored at -2 to 2 °C. After 100 days, chestnuts soaked and wrapped in film were best, with 94.4% having maintained their freshness; only 2.7% had rotted.
