Substitutes for refrigeration and heat pumps.
[In German. / En allemand.]
Author(s) : HENRICI R.
Type of article: Article
Summary
A general view is given of the CFC issue and the situation with substitutes (ie, toxicity, physical and thermodynamic characteristics, effect on metal materials, lubricants and possibilities for conversion). The author concludes that in the future a much smaller selection of refrigerants will be available for refrigeration and heat pumps. Moreover, the German CFC ban (starting January 1, 1995) could lead to shortages of 1 to 2 years for new plants.
