Type of article: Article
Summary
Surface treatments can improve polymer barrier characteristics and impart antimicrobial properties to packaging polymers. Designing a plasma system that could operate at atmospheric pressure, providing nonthermal plasmas, will allow operation in a completely continuous manner. This would provide high product throughput rates and reduce both capital and operational costs of currently used plasma systems.
