THE APPLICATION OF NON-AZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANT MIXTURES IN TWO-TEMPERATURE REFRIGERATORS.

Author(s) : KUEVER M., KRUSE H.

Summary

NON-AZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANT MIXTURES SEEM TO BE A POSSIBLE WAY TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF TWO-TEMPERATURE SYSTEMS THEORETICAL INVESTIGATION LED TO THE CONCLUSION THAT TWO MIXTURES, R22/R114 AND R13B1/R114 DESERVE FURTHER INVESTIGATION. THE PAPER DISCUSSES VAPOUR-LIQUID EQUILIBRIUM MEASUREMENT AND CALCULATION FOR R13B1/R114, BETWEEN 243 AND 323 K (-30 AND 50 DEG C) ; IMPROVED PERFORMANCE USING AN IMPROVED STOECKER MODEL AND THE EXPERIMENTAL SET UP PERFORMANCE. THE CONCLUSIONS ARE NON-AZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANTS OFFER ADVANTAGES OVER STANDARD REFRIGERANTS AND R22/R114 GIVES BETTER IMPROVEMENT IN COP THAN R13B1/R114.
