Summary

This hydrocarbons study report, is based on responses to the questionnaire sent to hydrocarbon suppliers in the USA and Europe. The ODS uses considered are: aerosol propellants; working fluids in refrigeration and air conditioning; and blowing of closed-cell insulating foam. The hydrocarbons relevant to these applications are propane, n-butane and iso-butane for aerosol and refrigeration use and n-pentane, iso-pentane, and cyclopentane for foam blowing. Recommendations are also given.
