Summary
The basic environment plan was established by a cabinet decision on Dec. 16, 1995. The plan is designed to achieve environmental load reduction. This paper is introduced with the action plan by the cabinet and the local governments, and activities. The subjects include: environmental considerations regarding construction and maintenance of buildings; improving energy efficiency and material use; undertaking construction work that has minimal environmental impact; reducing waste generation, and promoting material by separate collection system; the activity example of foreign countries; a method of environmental load calculation for building construction and construction work.
