Summary

ALL POSSIBLE SUBSTITUTION TECHNIQUES ARE DISCUSSED IN DETAIL, INCLUDING: HERMETIC ABSORPTION LIQUID CHILLERS WITH LITHIUM BROMIDE ; INSTALLATIONS WITH AMMONIA ; INSTALLATIONS WITH R22-RECIPROCATING LIQUID CHILLERS ; AND INSTALLATIONS TO COVER PEAK LOADS (50% CAPACITY COVERAGE WITH R22-RECIPROCATING LIQUID CHILLERS AND APPROXIMATELY 50% WITH ICE TANKS). R22 RECIPROCATING LIQUID CHILLERS SUPPLEMENTED BY ICE TANKS PRESENT A GOOD ALTERNATIVE AS THEY ARE BASED ON LONG TESTED ENGINEERING ANDIN THE CASE OF 1,000 KILOWATT COOLING CAPACITY, HAVE LESS THAN 1% OF THE OZONE DEPLETION OF THE COMMON R11 OR R12 CENTRIFUGAL LIQUID CHILLERS.
