Summary
AT PRESENT R22 IS COMING INTO GENERAL USE AS THE INTERIM ALTERNATIVE TO BOTH R12 AND R502 IN SUPERMARKET SYSTEMS. IN LOW TEMPERATURE USE IT BRINGS BACK THE HIGH DISCHARGE TEMPERATURE PROBLEMS WHICH R502 WAS DEVELOPED TO OVERCOME. HOWEVER, IN THE USA, A PRODUCTION LIMIT HAS BEEN DEFINED ALLOWING UTILIZATION OF R22 UP TO 2030 WHICH GIVES A POSITIVE INDICATION TO MANUFACTURERS AND USERS. D.W.H.
