Summary
In Japan, the sales of the CO2 heat pump water heaters "Ecocute" (that use CO2 natural refrigerant) are increasing year by year. Moreover, the multifunction version of the Ecocute has being requested from the market, so Sanyo put on the market the first multifunctional (domestic hot water and space heating) unit for cold areas. In this time SANYO adopted this technology and developed the first 9 kW CO2 split-cycle unit (for household use) for the European market.
