Summary
Air is the ultimate natural refrigerant with no adverse effect on the environment. Although the air cycle has been made practical, its performance does not exceed that of the conventional refrigerator. Therefore, the market for air cycle technology is limited. The author carried out research on a new air cycle (the advanced air cycle) which makes use of the latent heat of water in the air-cycle system. Results of simulation and tests on the adsorbent are reported.
