THE AUTHOR EXAMINES THE SITUATION OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES WITH RESPECT TO THEIR REQUIREMENTS AND TO THE METHODS AVAILABLE IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE SATISFACTORY RESULTS. HE UNDERLINES THE INTERACTION BETWEEN ECOLOGICAL ASPECTS AND TEMPERATURE. THE COMPATIBILITY OF VARIOUS FRESH PRODUCE DURING TRANSPORT AND IN WAREHOUSES, THE INFLUENCE OF PACKAGING FOR MAINTAINING QUALITY AND ALL THE TRANSPORT METHODS ARE ALSO EXAMINED. THE AIM OF THE ARTICLE IS TO FIND SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE THE DISTRIBUTION PROFITABILITY OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES.
