THE DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM BASED ON HEAT PUMP AT SKOYEN VEST IN OSLO IS GOING TO PRODUCE 8-9 MW, ENOUGH TO SUPPLY 2,500 LIVING UNITS. RAW SEWAGE AS LOW TEMPERATURE SOURCE CLAIMS CAREFUL CONSIDERATION OF EVAPORATOR DESIGN. PLATE EVAPORATORS WITH FALLING WATER FILM AND AUTOMATIC CLEANING SYSTEM ARE USED. A PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR THE CENTRAL HEATING PUTS OPERATION CLOSE TO THE ENERGY OPTIMUM. THE COSTS OF THIS DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM ARE AT THE SAME LEVEL AS COSTS OF FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANTS.
