Summary

THE DUTCH GOVERNMENT -LIKE AN INCREASING NUMBER OF OTHER GOVERNMENTS -AIMS TO PHASE-OUT THE USE OF FULLY HALOGENATED CFCS IN THE NETHERLANDS BETWEEN 1995 AND 1999. INDUSTRIES PRODUCING OR CONSUMING CFCS HAVE A PRIME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACHIEVING THIS PHASE-OUT. HOWEVER, THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT ONLY GUIDING BUT ALSO ASSISTING THE INDUSTRIES CONCERNED, FOR EXAMPLE BY CO-FUNDING PROJECTS AIMED AT REDUCING EMISSIONS AND AT DEVELOPING ALTERNATIVE COOLING AGENTS.
