Summary

CRYOPROTECTANTS DMSO, GLYCEROL, ETHYLENE GLYCOL, FORMAMIDE, DIMETHYLACETAMIDE IN 1 TO 1.5 M CONCENTRATIONS WERE USED IN THE EXPERIMENT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVELY SHORT EXPOSITION OF CELLS IN THE SOLUTIONS. POTENTIAL DEPENDENT ION CHANNELS OF NEURONE MEMBRANES CHANGED BUT INSIGNIFICANT-LY. PRESERVATION OF NORMAL ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS HAS BEEN SHOWN TO DEPEND ON THE METHOD OF CRYOPROTECTANTE. THE SURFACIAL MEMBRANE POTENTIAL CHANGED DUE TO ADSORPTION OF CRYOPROTECTANT MOLECULES SUCH AS DMSO AND FORMAMIDE ON THE SURFACE OF NEURONE MEMBRANE AND INTERACTION WITH CHARGED GROUPS.
