Summary

THE AUTHOR LISTS 3 MAIN REQUIREMENTS OF REFRIGERATING PLANTS IN FRUIT AND VEGETABLE COLD STORES: HIGH AIR HUMIDITY, EFFECTIVE VENTILATION OVER THE GOODS, AND A STABLE STORAGE TEMPERATURE. TO MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS THE AIR COOLER MUST PROVIDE: A RELATIVELY LARGE COOLING SURFACE, GOOD AIR DISTRIBUTION, GOOD REFRIGERANT DISTRIBUTION WITH EVERY TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE (IN ORDER TO ATTAIN THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE REFRIGERATING CAPACITY), AND LIMITED PRESSURE LOSS IN THE PIPING SYSTEM.
