The experimental research of R417A in heat pump heating water system.

Author(s) : YAN Z., LI X., ZHANG L., et al.

Summary

In a heat pump heating water system, R417A and R22 are employed as drop-in refrigerants in the authors' theoretical cycle numeral simulation and experiment study. The discharge temperature, power consumption, suction pressure, discharge pressure, refrigerant mass flow in the system have been tested under a few of different working conditions. The refrigeration and heating outputs and the value of COP have been calculated. The experiment results show that the actual operation results of R417A and R22 tally basically with theoretical simulations. The system operates in a normal way when replacing R22 with R417A without changing the lubricant. The discharge temperature of R417A is lower than that of R22, its power consumption decreases, heating output is less, but COP is a little higher than or equal to that of R22.
