This new edition of the manual, entirely in colour, is part of a series of documents accompanying a series of software intended for ongoing learning in air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment maintenance. It makes the operating of a refrigeration circuit very easily accessible to a beginner. After an in-depth study of the normal operating parameters, the handbook explains how to install and commission an air-conditioning system then how to diagnose a failure very quickly. Following a review of R407C and R410A, two new refrigerants, it lists all the causes for dysfunction by giving numerous practical examples, directly applicable to the work site. It details all the types of failure specific to reversible air conditioners and a special chapter is devoted to electric repairs. To conclude, the manual analyses the workings of inverter systems, electronic expansion valves, refrigerant recovery problems, etc. A CD-ROM containing demos of 6 software programmes [namely "AC" for beginners, learning refrigeration maintenance; the refrigeration failure simulator; learning electric maintenance; maintenance of liquid coolers; and maintenance of hydraulic circuits] is included.
