Summary

A hermetic, single-screw type heat pump capable of extracting heat from low temperature source under snowy and high humidity conditions was especially designed and field tested. A dynamic simulation was carried out in order to establish a control procedure for coping with the intermittent load conditions. The paper reports results of the heat pump performance under the actual field conditions and the dynamically simulated energy efficiency of the total heat pump system.
