Summary

The paper deals with the CEA's achievements, in both fields of fundamental research and applications. It mentions a certain number of top performances: achievement of the prototype of superconducting quadripolary magnets for the HERA proton collider (Hamburg); achievement of the two first focusing quadripoles of the future Large Hadron Collider (LHC in the CERN); surveys on superconducting wheels for the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS), that will be the future LHC detectors; achievement of large superconducting niobium cavities for accelerators, with a top performing field of 28 megavolts/mn in a laboratory and 18 megavolts/mn in operating conditions; study of controlled nuclear fusion; dilution cryogenerators to operate between 10 and 100 milliK; cryorefrigerators for infrared observation, etc. J.V.
