THE ARTICLE PRESENTS A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE R12 AND R134A REFRIGERANTS, FOR SMALL HERMETIC REFRIGERATING COMPRESSORS. THE ARTICLE COMPARES ALSO THE SENSITIVENESS OF THE SUCTION SUPERHEATING EFFECT, THE DEAD VOLUME EFFECT, AND THE REQUIRED CHANGE IN THE VOLUME DISPLACEMENT TO MEET THE PREVIOUS R12 REFRIGERATING CAPACITY.
