EFFECT OF LUBRICANTS ON THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF R134A IN HOME APPLIANCES.

Author(s) : RIFFE R., DEKLEVA T. W.

Summary

THE AUTHORS STUDY THE INFLUENCE OF LUBRICATING OIL-R134A MIXTURES (R134A AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR R12) IN DOMESTIC REFRIGERATORS. THE EFFECTS OF OILS ON TRANSMISSION COEFFICIENTS AND ON MECHANICAL LOSSES (IN THE BEARINGS) ARE REVIEWED ALONG WITH THE EFFECTS OF REFRIGERANTS ON THE PROPERTIES OF DIFFERENT LUBRICATION MEDIA (MINERAL OILS, POLYALKYLENE GLYCOLS, ESTERS). RESULTS ARE GIVEN IN DIAGRAMS AND TABLES. MORE COMPLETE TESTS REMAIN TO BE MADE. P. L.
