Summary

In this paper, the authors introduce the diffusion circumstance, conformation and characteristics of typical melting snow tank/melting snow machines and road heating systems, and describe the present situation and problems of these snow-melting systems from the viewpoint of energy conservation. A positive application is described: air conditioning using stored snow, initially developed for farm-product storage, has a new application as indoor air conditioning. This paper introduces some examples of air conditioning using stored snow.
