The representation and analysis of absorption cycles by means of the temperature-entropy diagram [CD-ROM].

Type of monograph: Doctoral thesis

Summary

This doctoral thesis is the English translation of a German thesis submitted in 1968 by Dr Nicolas Eber, who was awarded the IIR Prize in 1967. It was shown how reversible absorption cycles with whatever binary mixtures can be represented on the extended temperature-entropy diagram of the refrigerant. In this context, the separation of the vapour following its generation in the boiler and the role of the pressure equalizing auxiliary gas in absorption cooling units are investigated by means of original methods of thermodynamic analysis. Moreover, a procedure for the determination of the auxiliary gas mass flow in absorption cooling units by means of the refrigerant partial pressure versus loading diagrams is developed and discussed.
