The study of gases cryoadsorption on activated carbon SCN-2K for the production of highly purified hydrogen isotopes.

Summary

Nitrogen, argon, neon, helium, protium and deuterium adsorption isotherms were measured at the temperature of 78 K on the synthetic activated carbon type of SCN-2K. Separation factor of hydrogen-HD, H2-D2, and H2-HT molecules on SCN-2K at 78 K and pressure of 100 pascal was determined. Due to their good physical properties and their high selectivity towards nitrogen and oxygen, SCN-2K is a potential candidate for adsorbent for cryoadsorption purification of hydrogen isotopes.
