The use of refrigerant R134a as model fluid for water.

Author(s) : SPINDLER K.

Summary

The paper presents a comparison between R12, R134a and water, taking into account the thermodynamical properties. Scaling factor differences between these refrigerants and water are highlighted. This allows the use of cheaper apparatuses to perform measurements of the properties of water, using the properties of R12 or R134a as baseline.
