Summary
This paper focuses on the natural alternatives: hydrocarbons DME and their mixtures. Determination of thermodynamic properties and calculation of COP for natural alternatives and mixture were done using the Refprop and EES software. The theoretical study analyzes a heat pump air-water who works in present with R134a. To implement international Legislation, in the future is necessary to retrofit R134a refrigerant with a natural hydrocarbons or ecological refrigerant mixture (with better ODP and GWP). Energy efficiency is directly related to global warming and greenhouse gases emissions.
