Theoretical description of magnetocaloric effect in Ni-Mn-Ga alloys.

Summary

In this work a statistical and molecular field model for the theoretical description of Ni-Mn-Ga Heusler alloy properties is suggested. With the help of this model, the authors can calculate the temperature and field dependencies of magnetization, strain, entropy change, temperature-magnetic field diagram and thermodynamic cycles. The paper presents the results of the numerical simulation of the entropy change in some Ni-Mn-Ga alloys. The results of modelling are compared with the experimental ones.
