Thermal insulation of well heads in permafrost regions.
[In Russian. / En russe.]
Author(s) : YAKUSHEV V. S.
Type of article: Periodical article
Summary
In permafrost regions, oil extraction can cause the ground to melt and well heads to collapse. The solution is an artificial cooling, or better and cheaper, an insulating mantle system. The mantles are placed around the well head, as it is being built, or even later. The system is explained.
