THERMAL PROPERTIES AND HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS IN CRYOGENIC COOLING.

Author(s) : BIDDULPH M. W., BURFORD R. P.

Type of article: Article

Summary

A SIMPLE METHOD OF ESTABLISHING THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY VALUES OF MATERIALS OF INTEREST BY USING COOLING CURVES IS DESCRIBED. THESE VALUES ARE IMPORTANT FOR EFFECTIVE COOLER DESIGN. IN ADDITION VALUES OF CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT HAVE BEEN DETERMINED IN AN OPERATING INCLINED, ROTATING CYLINDRICAL COOLER OPERATING ON SCRAP CAR TYRES. THESE WILL ALSO BE USEFUL FOR COOLER DESIGN METHODS.
