Summary
With 17% of the cooling capacity of Japanese air-conditioning systems now met by either absorption or gas-engine equipment, the market for thermally-activated heat pumping systems is now very significant. The article discusses the current market situation and gives several examples of commercially available equipment. Furthermore, development projects on systems for use in the 21st century are also described.
