Thermodynamic analysis and comparison of natural refrigerant cascade refrigeration cycles.

Author(s) : ZHA S., MA Y., WANG J., et al.

Summary

The paper focuses on cascade refrigeration cycles using the natural refrigerants CO2, NH3 and R290. The properties of CO2, propane and NH3 are introduced and analysed, thermodynamic analysis of this cascade refrigeration system is provided, the optimum condensation temperature of the low-temperature cycle part and the optimum flow rate ratio are calculated. In comparison with the NH3-NH3 cascade refrigeration cycles, the obvious advantages of the CO2-NH3 and CO2-R290 cascade refrigeration cycle at low temperatures were demonstrated.
