Thermodynamical appraisal of heat pumps with CO2 refrigerant.

Summary

In this work a heat pump working on CO2 is considered. The aim was to obtain warm water at a temperature of 90 deg C when the initial temperature was in the region of 10-20 deg C. The authors have analysed known thermodynamic cycles of the CO2 heat pump and proposed a more energy efficient and technically reliable cycle for which the value of the coefficient of the COP reached the level of 3.9-4.7. The ultimate ends of this resaerch were the numerical characteristics of the proposed heat pump cycle, the necessary values of compression ratio, the values of vapour heating before the compressor suction, the scheme of the technical realization of the cycle and the necessary values of the heat-exchange surfaces.
