TIME AND FREQUENCY CONTROL OF EVAPORATOR DEFROSTING BY A DEFROSTING DETECTOR.

CONTROLE DE DUREE ET DE FREQUENCE DE DEGIVRAGE D'EVAPORATEUR PAR DETECTEUR DE DEGEL.

Author(s) : BONNET A.

Summary

A DEFROST DETECTOR IS A SMALL CONTAINER ENCLOSED IN A FLEXIBLE MEMBRANE FULL OF WATER, WHICH, IN FREEZING, INCREASES THE VOLUME, DISPLACES THE MEMBRANE AND CLOSES AN ELECTRICAL CONTACT. RECIPROCALLY, THE MELTING OF ICE GIVES AN INVERSE ELECTRICAL SIGNAL. THE DETECTOR IS FIXED TO THE EVAPORATOR AT THE POINT WHERE, DURING DEFROSTING, THE FROST IS THE LAST TO MELT. WHEN FREEZING, THE ENERGY SAVED ENABLES ONE TO LOWER THE ROOM TEMPERATURE. WHEN COOLING, WITH AIR DEFROSTING, THE DETECTOR PREVENTS ICING UP OF THE EVAPORATOR.
