Summary

This document includes the report of the 24th session of the Industrial Development Board and the 17th session of the Programme and Budget Committee. It contains chapters on: investment promotion and institutional capacity-building; sectoral support and environmental sustainability (industrial energy efficiency, clean production and environmental management, Montreal and Kyoto Protocols); the regional dimension; UNIDO Performance Management. The addendum provides various project data, including title, approval date, budget and delivery. The activities are listed in five categories: integrated programmes and country service frameworks; Montreal Protocol projects (including: phasing out ODS substances in the refrigeration, automobile, solvent, foam and cleaning sectors; preparation of a refrigerant management plan; preparation of an investment project for hospitals in the commercial refrigeration sector; replacement of CFCs; refrigerant recovery and recycling scheme; environmental management); other projects approved in 1998, 1999 and 2000; other projects approved before 1998; other projects approved before 1998 nearing completion.
