Summary

With respect to the equivalent period in 1997, consumption of meat products continued to decrease and consumption of fruit and vegetables rose 8%. Sales of fresh prepared foods such as pasta (+7 %), ready-to-eat salads (+5 %), and poultry dishes (+12 %) and quick-frozen foods (+6 %) continued to rise.
