USE OF A TEMPERATURE INTEGRATOR TO CONTROL ICE MAKING USING COLD OUTSIDE AIR.

Summary

A CONTROL SYSTEM FOR ICE MAKING USING COLD EXTERNAL AIR WAS DEVELOPED IN ORDER TO STORE WINTER COLD. THIS SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A TEMPERATURE INTEGRATOR FOR AMBIENT AIR AS A FUNCTION OF TIME. IT WAS USED FOR DETERMINING THE MINIMUM AIR FLOW RATE REQUIRED FOR MAKING A GIVEN ICE THICKNESS. THISSYSTEM ALSO MADE IT POSIBLE TO STORE WINTER COLD IN AREAS WITH A MILDER CLIMATE BY INCREASING THE RATE OF ICE-MAKING.
