AN ICE ACCUMULATOR AS A MODULAR UNIT, MANUFACTURED, COMPLETED AND READY FOR TRANSPORT AND ASSEMBLING IS PRESENTED. IT IS USED IN ALL AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION INSTALLATIONS ABOVE ABOUT 273 K(0 DEG C). ITS AIM IS TO ACCUMULATE THE COOLING ENERGY IN ICE DURING THE NIGHT LOW PRICE ENERGY, IN ORDER TO USE THAT ENERGY BY DAY. USE OF THESE ACCUMULATORS COULD DIVIDE INTO HALVES INVESTMENTS IN THE COOLING PLANT IN NEW INSTALLATIONS. THE ARTICLE CONTAINS THE APPLICATION SCHEMES, CHOICE AND DIMENSIONING. THE ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF THE ICE ACCUMULATOR IS ALSO PRESENTED.
