Utility's programme for the promotion of heat pumps.
Author(s) : NARITA K.
Summary
Since 1960, the Tokyo Electric Power Company has worked on the development of heat pumps, in order to improve the load curve of their generating stations. Water-air and air-air systems were first installed in their own buildings and then promoted to their customers. Information is freely exchanged. From 1983, work has been extended to thermal storage systems. The projects have been taken up by all other electric utilities in Japan. A.R.T.
