Summary
A simplified equation, comprising empirical coefficients, is presented for engineering calculations of the cooling time of a particular mass of liquid in vacuum-evaporating refrigerating machines to the required temperature. Specific energy consumption for water cooling is 20-30% lower than in freon water-cooling plants using a water-cooled condenser.
