Summary

The trans-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-butene (R1336mzz(E)) belongs to the HFO family of a non-flammable compound, high thermal stability, low GWP value. It can be expected as a suitable working fluid in waste heat recovery applications and also be substituted for R-245fa as a working fluid enabling both for the hightemperature heat pumps and organic Rankine cycles to recover heat from various sources. In this work, the main target is to measure the viscosity of R1336mzz(E) by using the tandem capillary tubes method, wherein two capillary tubes are set horizontally in series connection to eliminate the end effects. The experimental viscosity data are measured in the temperature from 40 to 120 ℃ over the pressure up to 4.0 MPa and temperature from 80 to 180 ℃ at pressure up to 2.0 MPa both for the liquid and vapor phases, respectively. The uncertainties of the viscosity measurement are estimated to be less than 3.0% both for the liquid and vapor phases.
